Wren Cottage - Pet friendly, Whitby holiday cottage for two
This cosy little cottage for 2 people is located in the ground floor part of a grade 2 listed building with some 200 years of history. With it's quality furnishings, it is within easy walking distance of the harbour and all other amenities and attractions.
There is a comfortable lounge with sofa, coffee table, dining table, a period fireplace (featuring instant electric heating), flat-screen satellite television and DVD/CD player. The kitchen area is small but fully equipped, including fridge, toaster, kettle, cooker and microwave. There is a double bedroom with all bed linen provided including an adjoining compact enclosed shower, basin and toilet room. Wren cottage benefits from the use of an enclosed shared garden.
A minutes' walk to the excellent Riverside fisheries, and the nearest pub is the highly rated, 'Middle Earth Tavern', just 3 (ish) minutes walk along Church street.

We're confident that the vast majority of people will love Wren's charms and the fact that because we're independent of the online booking companies, we can offer very competitive rates.
We will advise on parking, but expect that it might be a challenge at the busiest of times. The cottage benefits from being located at the side of the town that doesn't require parking permits, but if sometimes street parking isn't possible, the savings on the cottage will likely more than cover the cost of paid parking.
Wren cottage is cosy and compact. The bed is a standard double, but it's against the wall at one side to save more floor space at the other side and for the radiator, the shower room is similarly compact, but fully equipped with loo, basin and shower cubicle.
You will need to negotiate 15 stone steps from Church street, up to the door of wren cottage, something to think about if you have mobility problems.
The cottage is a ground floor flat in style, with it's own entrance, but there are unrelated properties above, which are also used for holiday letting. As a result, if there is noise above, you will hear it. Thankfully problems have been few and far between, but it's something to consider f you are someone that has to have silence.
A maximum of 2 clean, well-behaved pets are allowed, please don't leave them alone in the cottage and try to make it clear to them that the bed and the sofa are off limits.
If you are very allergic to pets, please look elsewhere.
We supply hand towels and a tea towel but please bring your own towels for showering.

Location
Salt Pan Well Steps links Church Street, at the side of the harbour, and The Ropery, high on the hill and accessible from Green Lane.
Enter Salt Pan Well Steps through the narrow opening next to Scoresby House on Church Street. Go up the first set of 15 steps and turn right through the brown gate.
Wren Cottage is the second door on the right.
Unrestricted street parking may be available both on Church Street and The Ropery, with other options nearby.
